Campfire Gastronomy · Enhancements

Fire Is the Method

Open-fire cooking elevated to its natural ceiling — without the grocery run, the meal plan or the mental load that makes cooking feel like work.

Campfire Dining for Couples

What Is Campfire Gastronomy

There is something that happens around a campfire with good food and no agenda. Conversations slow down. The meal takes as long as it takes. Menizei's campfire gastronomy is designed to make that experience effortless — everything sourced, prepped and delivered to your basecamp, ready for the fire. You bring the appetite and the company.

The Framework for Intimacy

Campfire Gastronomy is built on three principles:

01

Fire-Based Cooking

Everything here is designed for open fire. Cast iron, long tongs and patience. The method is the point.

02

Shared Preparation

Cooking together is its own ritual. Building a fire, timing the heat, plating at the edge of a campfire ring — these are acts of collaboration that most people outsource.

03

Reduced Cognitive Load

No grocery runs. No meal planning. No decisions. Everything is sourced, prepped and delivered to your basecamp. You provide the fire and the appetite.

The Offerings

What's on
the Menu

01

The Morning Ember

Refreshingly simple, quietly decadent. Creamy Greek yogurt paired with local lavender honey and a dusting of organic cinnamon. Savory-sweet granola can be gently toasted over the campfire for a warm, deeply satisfying upgrade.

Campfire optional · Breakfast for two
$30
02

The Campfire Dog

Crafted from 100% American Wagyu beef and a signature blend of spices, slowly hardwood-smoked for deep, savory flavor. Served on a fragrant brioche bun with ketchup, mustard, relish and onions — alongside chips, a freshly prepared seasonal side and two bottles of our favorite local craft soda.

Campfire required · Dinner for two
$60
03

The Black Label Dog

If you're indulging in fancy camping, you might as well indulge in a fancy dog. 100% American Wagyu on a brioche bun with crème fraîche, savory capers, onions and Dijon, served with a splurge-worthy tin of caviar flown in the day prior. Served with chips, slaw and two bottles of our favorite local craft soda.

Campfire required · Dinner for two
$160
04

The Board

A generous spread of cured meats, farmstead cheeses, dried fruits, house-made jam and local honey — paired with artisanal crackers and small sweet bites. Creamy brie petites invite optional campfire prep: melt in the coals and finish with lavender honey and sea salt. Plated on petrified wood.

Campfire optional · Lunch for two
$60
05

The Afterglow

A campfire-ready dessert kit featuring hand-crafted marshmallows infused with vanilla beans, wildflower honey and a subtle crack of black pepper. Small-batch buttery graham crackers and dark chocolate truffles filled with salted caramel ganache elevate this classic from familiar to unapologetically indulgent.

Campfire optional · Dessert for two
$25
06

The Alder Smoke

Local caught and smoked salmon to add to any Campfire Gastronomy offering. Prepared for simple pairing and shared grazing.

Optional addition · Smoked salmon
$25

All offerings are selected in advance at time of booking.

A starter supply of split, seasoned hardwood — enough to get the first fire going on arrival.

Cast Iron & Tongs

Pre-seasoned cast iron skillet, long campfire tongs and the basics for cooking over flame.

Prep Tools

Cutting board, knife, plates, utensils and linen napkins. Everything the meal asks of the table, none of the noise.

Built Around the Fire

Why Fire

Open-fire cooking is one of the oldest shared human experiences. It is slow, present and inherently collaborative. At Menizei, campfire gastronomy is designed to be an activity as much as a meal — a reason to stay outside longer, to do something with your hands, to let dinner take as long as the evening deserves.

Adults-Only Retreat for Couples

Who This Is For

Guests who want to eat well without spending the trip sourcing and planning. Couples who appreciate food but value their time and attention. Anyone who has ever eaten a Wagyu hot dog over an open fire and understood immediately that some things cannot be improved upon.

Frequently Asked Questions

Trail Notes

When is my campfire gastronomy order delivered?

All campfire gastronomy orders are delivered to your basecamp before your arrival, ready to prepare when the moment calls for it. Timing can be coordinated if you have a specific window in mind.

Do we need cooking experience?

None at all. Every offering comes with simple preparation notes. The most demanding skill required is building a fire — and that's half the experience.

Are orders selected in advance?

Yes. Campfire gastronomy is selected and added during checkout when reserving your stay. This allows us to source, prepare and deliver everything before you arrive.

Can we order more than one offering?

Yes. Many guests order across the day — a morning ember for breakfast, the board for the afternoon and a campfire dog for dinner. Each offering is designed to stand alone or layer comfortably with the others.

What about dietary restrictions?

We accommodate most dietary restrictions with advance notice. Please note any requirements at the time of booking and we'll confirm what's possible.

What is the Alder Smoke?

It's local caught and smoked salmon you can add to any Campfire Gastronomy offering — prepared for simple pairing and shared grazing.
