Menizei LLC (“Menizei,” “we,” “us” or “our”) operates the private forest retreat at menizei.com. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store and protect information you provide when you visit our website, make a reservation or communicate with us.

We don’t sell your data. We don’t run advertising. We collect what we need to operate a small, private retreat — nothing more.

We collect information in the following ways:

When you make a reservation, book an enhancement or contact us, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, mailing address and payment information. Payment card data is handled exclusively by our third-party payment processors — Menizei does not store payment card numbers.

When you visit menizei.com, our hosting provider may collect standard web server logs including your IP address, browser type, referring URL and pages visited. We use this information to maintain and improve the site. We do not use tracking pixels, behavioral advertising networks or cross-site tracking.

We use PostHog, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to understand how guests discover and move through menizei.com so we can make it better. This data is routed through our own domain and stored with a first-party cookie — it is never used for advertising, never used to track you across other websites and never sold. PostHog acts as our data processor, handling this information solely on our behalf. You can opt out at any time through the cookie notice shown on the site.

Reservations are made directly with Menizei at menizei.com — we are not listed on Airbnb, VRBO or any other online travel platform. Our booking engine, Hostaway, processes your reservation and a third-party payment processor handles your payment. When a booking is confirmed, we receive the information needed to prepare your stay (name, arrival and departure dates, contact details). We do not store your payment card numbers.

We use the information we collect to:

• Confirm and manage your reservation
• Communicate with you about your stay, including pre-arrival instructions and enhancement details
• Respond to questions or inquiries
• Fulfill enhancement bookings (campfire gastronomy, bodywork, photography)
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for targeted advertising, profiling or automated decision-making.

Menizei uses the following third-party services in the operation of the retreat:

• PostHog — privacy-friendly website analytics, used to understand and improve how guests experience the site. Processed on our behalf as our data processor — not used for advertising or cross-site tracking, and never sold.
• Hostaway — booking engine and property management. Powers reservations, availability and pricing for direct bookings on menizei.com.
• Airtable — internal operations management. Guest reservation data used for operational purposes (scheduling, housekeeping) is stored in a private Airtable base accessible only to the stewards and authorized staff.

We do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

We retain reservation and contact information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. Guest communication records are retained for a minimum of two years following a completed stay.

You may request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information we hold about you. To make a request, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days. Note that certain information may be retained to comply with legal obligations or to resolve disputes.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss or misuse. No transmission over the internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information submitted electronically.

Menizei is an adults-only retreat. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21 years of age.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective upon posting at menizei.com/privacy. If we make material changes, we will note the revised effective date at the top of this page.
